We pride ourselves on being a local employer. Astra Signs is a 100% owned Manchester company and our employees are recruited from the local community. We believe it is important to support charities and events in the local area and put something back into the community in which we are based. We're carried our a number of pro bono projects including producing all the signage for Versus Cancer concerts over the last three years, sponsoring Platt Fields Park’s summer festival and providing signage and office equipment for Lalley Welcome Centre in Collyhurst. We have also sponsored the team kit and training gear for Failsworth Youth Football Team (under 11's) and St Clare's Primary School.

Sharp Futures

Developing talent and supporting young people with an interest in the digital print and media industry is important to us. We have recently been part of Sharp Project's local partnership with schools - 'Sharp Futures' - a digitial media initiative that saw Year 9 students design a mural to wrap around the Sharp building in east Manchester. The aim of the initiatibe was to inspire and educate young people and the wider community on the exciting future of the digital industry and the building's unique position as a digital grow bag. Astra worked with the winning team to develop the design which has been wrapped around the building and was unveiled in early 2010.
